Box Office: Legend of Tarzan Reaches $60.7M after 1 Week in Theaters

Week one final figures are in and Legend of Tarzan has reached $60.7M in domestic box office on the strength of a $3.9M Thursday to close out the week.   Next comes Friday and the beginning of Week 2, with new compettiton in the form of Secret Life Of Pets, which opens on 4,370 screens. and will be the story of the weekend with an opening total of $90-100M.  Deadline Hollywood is projecting $15M for Legend of Tarzan for the weekend, which would be a pretty extreme 60% drop.   We’ll see if LOT will continue to surprise an exceed expectations.   (We think it will certainly reach $20M — let’s see who’s right.)
