June 2016 Marketing of Legend of Tarzan

A CNBC press release on the Stop Ivory thing: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/06/01/business-wire-the-legend-of-tarzan-partners-with-stop-ivory-to-save-the-forest-elephants-of-gabon-from-extinction.html

Rotten Tomatoes got back to me and say they've fixed the search result so it no longer says "Jim Broadbent, Tony Ludwig, Craig Brewer" and instead lists the cast correction as Alexander Skarsgard, Samuel L. Jackson, Margot Robbie (the first three contractually) . . .  -- yep, just tested it.....

That's an interesting quote from Reddit. I saw that you asked him for more info . . . let us know if he replies. Thanks.

Slow day for Tarzan sightings, so far, one student saw the trailer last night during the Big Bang Theory rerun on TBS.

Also it looks like the Tarzan inspired garden scooped up the top prize at Bloom in the Park.  Alexander Skarsgard also made an appearance and had a photo shoot there.

Just read ComicBook.com's review of TMNT.  Kind of a mixed review with only a 3 out of 5 rating.  What, if any influence, do you think the performance of these June movies will have on LOT?  Any opinions?

That wasn't Alex, but a sort-of look alike. I think Alex is in NYC now.

I'm not really paying attention to the early June movies, as even if they do very well, they probably won't hold on until the beginning of July, there's too much competition. The later ones, that's a whole different post 🙂

As for the tv ads, I've not seen any yet, then I've not had much time to watch tv. It does look like they're really trying for as wide as audience as possible (excluding the really young): Roots, Bravo shows, sports events. I don't know if they've aired anything aimed more at the tween/teen audience yet, but they should probably being do that as well.

We're also getting more foreign articles, and I expect those to increase in number (and hopefully more US ones as well).

For the younger demographic they seem to be doing a lot of advertising on YouTube.  My students and my own 16 year old son seems to spend a lot of time there.

Where on YouTube?  Can you get them to be specific?  That would be really significant if we could pin it down.  Just get him to mention where he is when he sees it a few times.

Another trailer about 40 minutes into the last episode of Roots on History Channel.  It was the trailer where Tarzan speaks, the same one shown during the second episode.

I've asked and most kids are watching video games.  I know it's hard to believe but it's a major past time to watch other people play a video game.  I guess it's like watching a sporting event.  They say the trailer shows up randomly.   I'll try and get more specific.

Just saw TV spot on NBA finals. Looked good.
