Is this a stealth campaign? Or strategically slow start?

I forgot one more detail that I wanted to mention. During the Stop Ivory campaign Alex mentions with the numbers displayed that during the time period that LOT occurs there were 19 million elephants and today there are less than 500,000. I thought this was a clever way to stress that this is a period movie.
As I reread the above paragraph I'd like to stress that this thought wasn't the first thing that ran through my head. The sheer number of elephants killed is astounding. It would be fantastic if LOT can really make a difference.
My students reported seeing the Tarzan trailer or commercial during the Western Conference Basketball game, while watching Comedy Central and before Alice and Wonderland at a non-Regal theater. The Regal theater 2 miles away didn't show it before Alice.
I was also disappointed that I still saw no banners or huge cardboard monstrosities promoting Tarzan in the main lobby, just a poster outside. Did see a banner for BFG and cardboard things for Dory and Teenage Mutate Ninja Turtles. 🙁

Thanks to everyone so far for all the updates and thoughts on the marketing . . . .I have opened a "Legend of Tarzan Promotion - June 2016" thread to start from today, June 1. If there is unfinished business here that people want to comment on -- no worries, feel free. But for the tracking of the promotion in general, let's move it over to the new thread.
